CEIES Research Groups
As the major chunk of the intelligent engineering systems is centered around aerial
systems (like remotely piloted drones, UAVs etc.), this group focuses on conceiving ideas
for such aerial systems according to different demanding applications. This group also works
on the complete engineering design and analysis (structural and stability both) of such
systems and produces the working prototypes.
This group focuses on research in modern control systems and develops autonomous systems
(ground, aerial, and marine etc.) for different cadres of the society. Researchers from
different disciplines like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical
Engineering, Control Systems, and Artificial Intelligence etc. are contributing in this
group. This group works around state-of-the-art multidisciplinary systems to introduce the
required levels of autonomy according to different applications.
The core of intelligence is built around embedded systems ranging from simple
micro-controllers to FPGA and SoC. Various different hardware and software technologies are
combined to realize an embedded system. In fact, a simple machine takes the shape of a
modern intelligent and interactive system because of the embedded system controlling it.
This group works on the design and development of the complete embedded systems; hardware,
software, firmware; required for the intelligent systems under development in the center.
This group closely interacts with the other groups to figure out the design requirements. As
the developed embedded system will act as the core of a system under development, therefore
this group also works as a subset of the Control and Autonomous Systems Group for the whole
system design and integration.
This is the third item's accordion body. It is hidden by default, until the
collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These
classes
control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You
can
modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It's also worth
noting
that just about any HTML can go within the .accordion-body , though the
transition
does limit overflow.
As most of the systems are electro-mechanical in nature, there is a great need of smart
mechanisms and efficient mechanical design. This group engages itself in conceiving the
structural/ mechanism design of the systems under development at the center. This group
closely works with other groups especially the Aerodynamics Systems Design Group to to
materialize a successful mechanical design.
Sensors and sensing systems play a crucial role in the implementation of feedback
control and, therefore, realizing autonomous systems. This group focuses its activities on
the research and development of state-of-the-art sensing systems like laser, optical, RF
(Radar and MIMO systems) etc. It also works on the development of new sensors and sensing
technologies.
As there exists great interlink between control and signal processing, this important
group works in close collaboration with the control and autonomous systems group. It mainly
focuses on the research of the state-of-the-art signal/ image processing algorithms design
and techniques. As various signal and/ or image processing algorithms are required in an
intelligent system, therefore, this group also works on developing those algorithms and
implementing them in collaboration with the Embedded Systems Group. It also works on the
implementation of the most modern complex control algorithms.
